United Nations and the ICJ

I was 30 years old when I discovered the Charter of the United Nations and the Statute of the International Court of Justice, and my great grandfather was instrumental in the events preluding the signing.

Why is it not mandatory to teach students, from grade school on, the importance of these documents, the reason they were drafted, and the importance of defending them?

The single requirement for peace? Having the courage to defend the Charter.

Happy 75th Anniversary United Nations.

Special Thank You message to:

Philippe Gautier, Registrar of the ICJ

Judge Abdulqawi A. Yusuf, President of the ICJ

Antonio Guterres, Secretary General of the UN

And the 193 member states, two observer states, and the many peoples of the United Nations.

We speak what is true, we trust what is written, and we defend what is right, according to the Law of the World, without reservation.
